Community Outreach

As part of our vision to be a faith community that Learns Continually, Loves Abundantly, and Lives Faithfully,
we encourage and empower our members to reach beyond the doors of FPC to offer the following ministry to our neighbors ....

Presbyterian Preschool Ministry - A Level 3 Paths to Quality designation (soon to be Level 4) enables our qualified professional staff to serve 135 children from ages 18 months to PreK. Click here for more info.

The Young Parents Support Group provides mentoring support and fellowship opportunities for parents under 21 years of age. Congregation members contribute items to the Baby Boutique and redeemable couponing program, as well as provide a weekly meal or opportunities for the young parents to prepare a meal with donated items.

Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic Intake is offered twice a month. Attorneys are on site to speak with you in person about legal concerns. There is not charge for this consultation. If your case is accepted, a referral is made for a pro bono attorney. Church members act as hosts to welcome community clients. See www.nclegalclinic.org for more details.

LEBANON CARING CENTER receives donated grocery items that are collected for this neighborhood food distribution center for those in need.

BOONE COUNTY HABITAT FOR HUMANITY – In addition to financial support, FPC members advance the good work of Boone County Habitat for Humanity by volunteering to build homes, prepare and serve lunch for work crews, or lead morning devotionals and prayer. This year FPC provided construction crews for the Faith Build House and the Women Build House. Our pastor currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Boone County, the clergy coordinator of local churches for participation in the Faith Build and the Devotion and Prayer coordinator for the Women Build. Dates vary, volunteers are always welcome for both building services and prayer/devotional leadership. Information available in the church office. See www.habitatboonecounty.org for more details.

Welcome Baskets for Aspire Residents – Aspire Manor is an income-based, supported-living apartment complex located just a block from our congregation. FPC provides a welcome basket for every new resident as a way to say, “We are glad you are our neighbor!”

"Love Remains" bereavement Gifts – FPC provides “Love Remains" gifts for use in the Obstetrics Unit at Witham Hospital in Lebanon., The gifts, which are specially created for parents whose babies are stillborn babies or who have died at birth, include a number of services and mementos to bring comfort in the midst of grief. They are offered by our congregation as an act of pastoral care and God’s comfort during a time of profound sadness and loss for the families. The gifts are donated in the memory of Jacob Paul Reynolds, son of FPC members Craig and Casey Reynolds, who is also an OB nurse. Jacob entered this world prematurely on September 5, 2015 and returned to the Lord the same day.

THE FAMILY FUN BOOTH AT THE LEBANON CITY MARKET – Lebanon City Farmers’ Market is held on the First Friday of the month April through October in and around the Presbyterian Park. Volunteers from FPC host a family friendly booth at each Market.

SUMMER FPC – FOOD, PRAYER, AND COMMUNITY – Wednesday evenings from mid-June to July in the Presbyterian Church Pocket Park (or Fellowship Hall in case of inclement weather). Church members and community residents combine pitch-in meals with food fellowship.

Community Events in the Presbyterian Church Pocket Park - A variety of events are enjoyed, such as the Mel Kenyon Midget Car Race, “Back to the 50’s” town celebration, Community Band Concerts, Movie Nights, Community Worship services.
