FPC members and friends faithfully pray for each other, our community, and the world. Please complete a prayer request card and place it in the offering plate or email your requests & joys to Phyllis Duff, our Prayer Chain Coordinator at email@example.com & she will send them out via email. Also, please provide Phyllis with your email address if you are willing and committed to praying for our church family as the needs arise.
The new women’s group will meet every 4th Wednesday of the month at 1pm beginning next Wed. July 24th. The ending times will be loose each week. We will meet in the Library. Each month will be different. We may learn a new craft or skill, we may learn something new about the PCUSA or our community, we may do a project together in the church or community-both physical and non-mobile opportunities, we may have lunch on the square, or watch a movie, or send cards. It is all to be very casual, very welcoming, very fluid, and open to ALL ages of ALL women of FPC and their friends and neighbors. There are no attendance requirements as each gathering is its own event and there will not be an ongoing study. The hope is to get this group going so those prefer to meet in the evening could start a group too. Contact Jennie with any questions and bring your ideas to the gathering on July 24th.
Wednesday, July 17th from 6-7:30pm Our Worship Ministry is hosting with sloppy joes & chips.
Homemade sloppy joes will be provided, but there is a sign up for the Worship Ministry folks to provide desserts, buns, condiments, & gallons of ready made tea or lemonade.
(There is a Session Meeting this night.)
Our new Transitional Pastor hiring process is going well and candidates are being welcomed in to get a feel for FPC and Lebanon these next few weeks. Rev. Shircliff and Rev. McDonald will both be unavailable for part of July, so Rev. Nate Kibler from CCC will be helping our church leadership if pastoral needs arise that require a Pastor. Please call the church office at 482-5959 or Jennie Woods at (765) 891-0649 or any Elder if you need assistance and your needs will be forwarded to the most appropriate leader.
On Sunday, July 21st, at 10:30am, we will participate in a Summer Hymn Sing in lieu of our traditional worship service. We will hear “the rest of the story” for our favorite hymns, learn some new ones, and hear from a few of our church family about their favorite hymns. Be ready to request your personal favorites during our open sing time too. This will be an informal worship so wear your comfortable clothes, leave your worries behind, and come and celebrate as David did so many years ago with poetry and scripture put to song.
Doc will be 99 years old on Tuesday, July 30th. Since he has not been physically able to come to worship lately, and Charlotte has had her own health challenges, let’s shower him with birthday cards.
His address is 2005 Terrace Lane, Lebanon, IN 46052.
